Golf Courses

When it comes to golf courses, most players would agree with silverscreen star Mae West's assertion that "Too much of a good thing is wonderful." If one top notch 18-hole course is good, then two of them are absolutely inspirational. Considered by many dedicated golfers to be the state's two finest playing winter courses, the North Course and the South Course deliver playing experiences so diverse it's a wonder they occupy adjacent grounds.

South Course

Oregon Golf | South Course | The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club | Oregon Golf Designed by John Fought, a Portland native and former PGA Tour pro whose design credits include four Top 100 courses, The South Course is a traditional American layout with mature stands of Oregon trees, naturally rolling terrain and 114 gleaming white sand bunkers waiting to swallow errant shots. Strategy and deception combine with pure aesthetic pleasure on this par 72 track, measuring from 5,189 to 7,172 yards. The South Course offers a test worthy of the most accomplished golfer - both The Fred Meyer Challenge and the JELD-WEN Tradition have been played on this course.

Course highlights include the 605-yard, par 5 6th hole and the 473-yard, par 4 17th. The 6th requires players to negotiate no fewer than 16 strategically placed fairway and greenside bunkers. The 17th stands out not only for its beauty, but also for the water feature guarding the hole's left side and the distinctive double green, shared with the 11th and punctuated by a pot bunker separating the two putting surfaces.

The South Course is reserved exclusively for private members and their guests from the 16th through the end of each month.

South Course Designer: John Fought

John Fought Golf Architect | Oregon Golf | The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club | Oregon Golf John Fought, president of John Fought Design, has accumulated an impressive resume in the game of golf, both as a player and now as a golf course architect. The 1977 U.S. Amateur Champion and two-time PGA Tour winner, Fought has played tournament golf from the Masters at Augusta to the linkslands of Scotland. When his illustrious playing career was cut short by injuries, he redirected his passion for the game into the art and science of golf course design.

"You always remember the courses you like and this is one of them."
Fuzzy Zoeller - 10 Time PGA Tour Winner

North Course

Oregon Golf | The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club | Oregon Golf | North Course | Bobb Cupp Design Designed by Bob Cupp, whose award-winning golf architecture accomplishments include Oregon courses Crosswater and Pumpkin Ridge, the North Course provides dramatic contrast to its counterpart at The Reserve. While The South Course's trees and terrain are pure Willamette Valley in character, the North Course feels more like playing among Oregon's coastal dunes. The more expansive links-style layout features undulating native grass mounds, distinctive shape, judicious bunkering and formidable greens with short grass surrounds.

The par 72 course, measuring from 5,241 to 6,845 yards, defies players to hit and hold its greens. Without a doubt, the course's signature hole is the unique 459 yard, par 4 17th, where the green is part of a spectacular 43,000 square foot triple green complex shared by the 1st, 8th, and 17th holes.

The North Course is reserved exclusively for private members and their guests from the 1st through the 15th of each month.
